2021-22 IGCSE Results.

IGCSE results; a time of excitement, tears of joy and nerves. MIA produced their 7th cohort, which had 38 students sitting for the 21-22 IGCSE results. Now given the amount of time that the students lost from year 9 leading up to year 11 because of the pandemic and the challenges that came with online learning or lack thereof. It was always going to be a tough for this particular group to produce decent results but they managed pulled it out of the bag with 70% A to C grades.

From the 38 students, 15% were A* to A grade, 38% A to B grade, 70% A to C and 94% A to E grade passes across all subjects, this demonstrates our student’s resilience and hard work in the face of challenges.

These results are also a testament of our IGCSE teachers’ efforts in teaching and making up for lost time. They sacrificed their free time to teach the kids during holidays, after classes and any other time they could salvage from their busy schedules.

We also had 4 students who did exceptionally well with A* to B grades! Congratulations to Vincent Luhanga, Esther Longwe, Sean Mvula, and Mathews Malema.

Esther Longwe Year 11 is celebrating her amazing results. Esther said she expected to get a B in Physics because she had challenges in the subject but otherwise was very happy to with 7 A grades from her 8 subjects. Esther joined MIA in Year 10 second term, making her results all the more impressive. She’ll go on to pursue A-Levels.

Vincent Luhanga Year 11 was also ecstatic about his 6 A*s and 1 B grade. He is at the top of the 21-22 cohort. Vincent is a long time MIA student, and a consistent academic performer. We are happy he fulfilled the potential his teachers saw in him.

Sean Mvula Year 11 managed 4 A and 4 B grades and Mathews Malema bagging 4 As 2 Bs and 2Cs. They are both very happy and looking forward to the next challenge.

At MIA, we follow the Cambridge IGCSE courses. During their two-year IGCSE courses, students may pick between 7 and 11 specific subject areas, including mandatory core subjects as well as optional programmes in Business Studies, Environmental Management, French and more. Our school provides an invaluable opportunity for students to begin to specialize in areas of their choice in preparation for future academic and career pursuits.
