Albinism movie wins Mzuzu International Academy Your World Regional trophy

009Afilm about the foiled murder of 13-year-ord albino Morton  Juma of Karonga District has earned Mzuzu International Academy A regional accolade in southern Africa.

Mzuzu ainternational Academy students summarised Juma's ordeal in the short film to become the regional winners of British Council Your World competition, Sub-saharan region with schools from South Africa, Zimbabwe,  Malawi and others.

One of the students who was  part of the production team, Tingo Kanjadza, said that they wanted to align themselves with ' thevoiceless'.

"We thought of people like Morton who smelled death but managed to escape. We are telling a story about how Morton got into the situation, how he managed to escape and how he ended up at this school" he said.

Mzuzu International Academy is pleased and proud to announce that Ali Bassim Lilani, a Year 9 student, has won a full scholarship, worth over £4,000, to study at Oxford Royale Academy this coming July -August.
